Wait it could be the motherboard drivers. The comp is connected by LAN and I had the win 10 USB in and it asked what operating system I wanted before it froze so I assumed it was to do with win 10.

Do you even have Windows installed? I've never had a "Easy Driver Installer" feature within the BIOS of my machines but I would assume if you don't have Windows installed, that's why it's stuck. Because it's trying to install Windows drivers on a machine that doesn't have Windows.

Restarting it shouldn't cause any damage.

Hey I am trying to install windows 10 from a USB because it asked for it during my motherboard BIOS when turning on my PC for the first time. I think it's frozen for the last line and I am wondering if it's risky to just press the reset button and try again?

Thanks in advance for any helpful advice

I'm not really sure where you're coming from. Your BIOS shouldn't be asking you to install Windows from a USB or asking to install any OS in general. It'll ask for a boot device, but not ask to install an OS.

Can you show us a picture of what's on screen when your system is halted?

I can be dangerous, but at some stages, it won't be. My Windows 7 install on a disk got stuck. I waited 2 hours, then I restarted it. The next moment, no signal went to my screen. I removed and replaced all the components, one for one, didn't work. I tried the motherboard in another PC, no avail. I think my motherboard got bricked (don't know how from a Windows install). I used another motherboard, the next moment, the monitor came on. It matters where it's stuck.

I reset it and it seems to have worked and has gone straight into normal windows install. I just wanted to know if it was dangerous to reset so thank for the all the info. It was a big help
