I rarely used an optical drive in the past 5 years, but sometimes, when i have to deal with very old machines that do not support usb booting, or i bought a book with code examples on cd i'm falling back to this ancient technology.

The day will come, when programming books ship with little usb drives or micro sd cards, and old pc's die off! At least i hope so.
