since i can't afford to buy 8GB, i think i'm gonna buy a single stick 4GB and buy another one in the future

can i use a 1866mhz memory with my 1600mhz memory?

Yes but they will both run at 1600. Shouldn't be a problem.

so i have a 2x2gb ram 1600mhz from team

i noticed that my computer is getting slow

so i want to change 1 stick to 4 gb (same speed, same timing, same brand)

it is gonna work?

It should work. But your computer being slow could also due to CPU. What it is?

It probably will, but having 6GB isn't much better than 4, and 8 is.

If I was you I'd buy a stick of 8 and run 10GB (1 2GB, 1 8GB), or if that doesn't work, just 8GB and keep the rest. You'll always find someone who needs some DDR3 so why not?

We have a NEW and GLORIOUSER-ER-ER PSU Tier List Now. (dammit @LukeSavenije stop coming up with new ones)

You can check out the old one that gave joy to so many across the land here

Computer having a hard time powering on? Troubleshoot it with this guide. (Currently looking for suggestions to update it into the context of <current year> and make it its own thread)

I don't need 2GB of DDR3 more. But I do need more.

Honestly A8-7600s aren't really that slow. It's probably your RAM.

Do you play games? Do you have a dedicated graphics card?

You'll want 2 4GB sticks then. Faster ones (Say, DDR3-2133MHz) will give you better performance with the integrated graphics but cost more.

You can sell the 2 2GB ones, should at least earn you $10-$15.

the fastest memory available on my local shop is single stick 8GB 1866MHz

but on my motherboard specification if i use memory above 1600MHz i need to OC

Yeah "OC" just means manually setting the rated speeds.

And you should do 2 sticks definitely. The performance in games is easily twofold with 2 sticks.

Yes but they will both run at 1600. Shouldn't be a problem.
