Vizio Soundbar Setup

So I recently upgraded my TV to a Vizio 4K D Series 50 inch TV.  Several weeks after upgrading the TV I bought a Vizio SB4051-D5 soundbar....I have had enough quirky problems that I have gone around and around on that I figure it is time to ask for help.  So here are the quirks...

 

-- Sound will randomly cut out....only on certain channels though, I can usually get it back though sometimes really requires some work.

-- HDMI ARC 80%-90% doesn't work as my input choice...I have HDMI cable plugged into the ARC port on the TV and TV appears to that it should be an ARC device looking at the TV menus  (it is showing up in CEC devices).  I having to use plain HDMI not HDMI-ARC.
