I am currently running an FX-8350 (with Noctua DH-15 CPU-cooler) mounted on a Asus Sabertooth 990FX R2.0.
With that I have 16GB Kingston HyperX 1866MHz, a decent Samsung SSD 500GB and an old WD 1 TB HDD.
My GPU is a Asus Strix Rx 470 OC Gaming 4GB and it all is built in an NZXT Phantom 630 powered by an old (about 2.5 years) 750 W PSU from NZXT.

I would primarily want recommendations on SSD/HDD as well as if I should switch out the CPU/Mobo to something new.
I have yet to run into any problems with the build but I'm afraid that it won't be able to perform at desired levels (haven't tested the build yet) when playing games such as Dishonored 2 or Watch_Dogs 2.
This might be due to a "weak" CPU that I haven't been OC'ing for the moment so if you're running a similar setup and could give me some advice on OC and voltage levels, I'm all ears.

This is a useful chart for OCing:

zzwoPOS.png

AMD CPUs are not known for their IPC so that is bound to be a weak point that OCing can help. I'm not familiar with how well the RX470 will fare in this situation, but I would imagine that it could handle reasonable 1080p for your target games.

I'm a simple 1920x1080 gamer, I have for the most part of my recent years been playing LoL.
The reason I want to upgrade storage is that I have an old version of the SSD, I think the name is 840 or something like that. The HDD really needs to be renewed, I think it's dying based on the sound it makes so I have transfered all of its data to an external drive but would like to have a secondary storage for thing that I don't need to run at a higher speed.

The GPU will be slightly modified by installing an aftermarket cooler to primarily reduce noise levels but as well decrease overall temperatures.

I would target thermals around 85C and try to stay under 1.4v unless you're very confident in your cooling.

Would an EVGA Supernova 750 G2 be a recommended PSU to upgrade to from my NZXT Hale 82?
It seems as though it holds up to the requirements according to the chart.

An idea would perhaps be to purchase the ASUS Z-170 pro gaming with an Intel i5-6600K CPU.

This would most likely increase my CPU-performance by a somewhat substantial amount but it does however cost me about $400 in total. Is it a viable cost for the moment or does my current CPU hold up?

Are you near your PSUs rated wattage already? Only if you are then you should worry.

Yes. You're at the middle ground where either CPU or GPU upgrades will significantly help. Depending on what you use your computer for primarily can you determine the correct course of action.

Not nearing the wattage, but I have come across some people saying that a new PSU would be a good idea due to the quality of the Hale.

I use my rig mainly for LoL but also some other games such as Witcher III, Dishonored 2 and Watch Dogs 2.

The GPU was a recent pickup and hasn't been installed yet, but I'm not considering spending another $350 or so and get a GTX 10-series instead.
