CPU overclock 80° W*F

Hey everyone.

I'm pretty new to pc gaming and building.

I recently have bought an fx 6300 CPU and wanted to overclock it.

Now, my problem is that when I overclock it from 3.5ghz to only 4ghz that it gets to 80° while its getting watercooled by my coolermaster seidon 120v.

What am i doing wrong?

Thanks!

Too much voltage?

Altough low end aios dont perform much better than air coolers for the same price.

Try pushing the voltage dont, and or reinstall the cooler

Your cooler can't handle it. Lower the voltage or revert the oc. 80° will damage your cpu.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

sudo chmod -R 000 /*

is this 80c under prime95(full load) , if so that's ok coz your pc never runs at full load in regular useage.

you can tell by my reply the lack of info in your post

info needed for a reasoned response.

temps at idle with no overclock

temps under prime95 with no OC

temps under prime95 with OC

cpu vcore with and without OC under prime.

also what settings you changed in bios

Your 3930k is not AMD.

You don't know much about cpus it seems... every cpu has different tolerance to temperature. FX series cpus can generally take up to about 74°C before risking damage. They throttle at 64°.

No, tcase is something else. Intel cpus throttle at 96°C iirc and shut down to prevent damage at 100°C.
