Projector Cart

My church has a cart with a laptop and projector that they use multiple times a week and through out the buildings. The speakers that they have used, at the age of at least 10 years old, is starting to break due to age (stands for the speakers). I am looking at buying a new speaker system but I am not sure what to get.

 

Here are some things that are a must:

Must be loud enough to be heard with at least 10 loud middle school kids in a room

Must have some kind of decent bass as it is sometimes used in large rooms

Must be able to withstand some abuse from moving the cart, rolling over thresholds, bumps, people being retards, etc. (we all know that if it doesn't belong to you, you don't give a donkey's @$$).

 

A plus would be to have the ability for the sound to be passed through to a portable sound system (currently exists) that uses three prong mic cables/plugs, larger speaker wire with (6.2mm I think) ends.

How big are the rooms? How loud do you want it? Budget?

I don't mind paying $100 dollars at the very most but they need to be very good! I'd like to stay between $30 to $70 if possible. The rooms can be a gym (I'd prefer to have the ability to pass through to go to the sound system as originally mentioned for the gym) down to a room that can hold about 6 people.

Not even a slightly realistic budget. You cant do it. even if your budget was 500 you be doing it with cheap speakers. try searching for JBL Eons 15 inch generation 1 or 2 on a second hand website of your choice may be able to get one with a stand for 250 bucks.

This type is like what the church has now. Just a simply three piece speaker set. When it is in the gym we usually use a separate sound system that has mics and two big speakers and a control/power station. If the sound from the pc is used them the mic has to be put right up to the pc speakers. I want to be able to get the sound from the pc to the sound system. If the pc speakers have the ability to pass the sound to the sound system speakers or to a mic port on the control board that would be fracking awesome. The current set up is almost perfect, it is just old and needs a good update. Better sound quality and loudness is preferred. If it can do usb as well that would be a plus but not a deal breaker.
