RX 470 Bad Performance

System specs

Fx 6100

ASUS Strix RX 470

8GB of HyperX Ram

Asrock 960GM-VGS3 FX

So my friend got a 470 about a month ago and when he first used it in games such as rust, he got the same or worse performance than his 750 ti did. He gets 35 fps on the highest settings at 1080p. According to a video he should be getting 60+ fps.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7MZiWr61s3E

He is using the latest drivers. He said sometimes the GPu. says 0% usage.

I'm not really sure if it is, but if it was there is still that video showing that he should be able to get 60fps, and he has other games where he gets bad performance from his 470

No need to be so aggressive, not everybody sees it at once and not everybody has a solution. We're not all geniuses. Besides, you post is less than a day old, give it some time.

Also, based on some quick searching RUST's performance seems to be hit or miss, especially on AMD.

What games are those ? I don't have bad performance unless I crank the AA too high

All i know is that he plays gta 5, which yeah is a cpu intensive game but he should get a performance boost by going from a 750ti to a 470 i think

I see other posts that get loads more interaction. Anyway that's besides the point. I played rust for like 2k hours and the performance is bad compared to other games but he shouldnt get 30 fps on max, i think he got more fps from his 750ti

His CPU is a FX 6300, his FPS is also trash.

Playing at 480P also.

6300 isnt that much better than a 6100 is it? and why do you think hes playing at 480p it says in the description that its 1080p

Also his fps in the video might only be 60-80 but my mate only needs more than 60 cause he doesnt have a 144hz monitor and he wont be using motion blur and completely max setings.

Black bars is not 1080P.

His FPS drops to 40, and the graphics are not maxed.. pixelated shadows and horrific looking graphics, get your eyes tested and stop believing BS on YT.
