overclocking RAM on a Z170-ar

Hey all!

I'm looking to start my first build and I am a little confused with the overclocking & RAM freq. The Mobo I'm looking at is a Z170-ar with a i5-6600k. The mobo spec's show it can overclock RAM to upto 3400MHz.

My question is should I purchase the standard 2133 DDR4 and overclock it the best I can or purchase something higher MHz like 3200MHz DDR4 and just overclock the mobo to fully utilise the RAM?

Sorry if I don't make much sense I'm new to all the compatibility of parts.

Thanks.

Ram speeds don't really matter so id just get the cheap ram, and run it at stock. ALso you can't normally oc the cpu as much with very high speed memory

Your probably cant get the ram to oc that high of a speed, so if you want 3200(won't make a difference), but 3200.
