Hey, a few days ago i got new gear, motherboard etc. however i still need a new cpu before i can use it. after unplugging my current gear and putting it back, it won't boot up. can anyone spot any obvious flaws in my wiring?

I'm an amateur builder, but I did use the manual of the mb.

Check your power button connector, they are not always easy to connect. But you not getting any post? No fans or anything? Check switch on back of PSU so its not off

Whats specifically happening?

What happens when you press the power button? Is the power supply on?

What were your old parts and what are your new parts?

Are the cables connected correctly, including fully latched? Is the power supply turned on and connected to a power source?

No, its all dead, no nothing. it worked before just fine, then i reassembled it and now its only scrap metal.

Re-seat the ram in the other slots, also check if your PSU is rated to supply enough watts for the new config.

Will do. these are all my old parts so it worked before for 2.5 years just fine with these exact components. if i can add any relevant info, the long connector in the top right was extremely hard to pull out as well as plugging in.

Must i unplug the power cordxeach time i switch things around? i do that just for safety. turning it off maybe works just as fine?

Unplug just to be 100% sure there is no power running into mobo.

Jump start the power supply using the 24 pin connector to see if it is able to start up.

Also make sure the 24 Pin ATX power cord is ALL the way in(I speak from experience).

It wont go further no matter how much force i apply. it was almost impossible to unplug as well. maybe the socket itself is the issue?
