Dynamic Res and refresh rate

I'm currently using the BenQ XL2411Z monitor which supports 1080p@144hz.

I'm wondering if in games, I use a dynamic resolution instead of my native one such as 1440p... will my refresh rate remain the same or will it be reduced?

It will be the same, the monitor will still be running at 1080p 144 Hz. It's just the software will be rendered internally at 1440p and then downscaled to 1080p before being sent to the display.
