Damn. I've got nothing else. Never used Firewire. I'd say the board could be defective.

I returned my first one to Superbiiz, and bought a new one from Amazon 1 day shipping so I could swap them out asap.

I would call Asus and see if they'd know why this happened and if they could help you. Also, do you have any Firewire accessories to try on the card?

there is nothing to indicate whether or not something is connected on the card
