Throwback: T-4500 upgrade to T-9800

So I recently revived a 2009 Dell Inspiron 1545 with 8gbs of DDR2 800Mhz, a 128gb ssd, and Ubuntu. Since the case was cracked and had tons of dumb stickers from my youth I didnt feel like peeling off, I wrapped it in Ducktape and cherished it the Crapple Trashbook Pro. Since this is supposed to be a (terrible) competitor to the new Macbook, I tried to match spec where I could with memory, ssd size, but now I want to upgrade the CPU. I am told that the new macbook is a dual core clocked at 2.9Ghz(its really hard to find the exact model cuz all the real specs are drowned by Touchbar fever), Im thinking that the T-9800 would be a great poor mans version of this CPU. It has the same TDP and I've read that its compatible with a BIOS update. What do you guys think, should I go for that or try my luck with the Extreme duo series?

Make sure the sockets are the same. Because I can tell you, the i5 and the T9800 are definitely not on the same socket xD (and the i5 is BGA, therefore not upgradeable)
