Reasonable Temperatures

CuriousPlaces

So I was recently reading up on Crypto-Currency and because I recently built my first desktop (Gigabyte 1070, 16gb of ram, i5 6600k) I figured it would be a good idea to mine ethereum while I am away at class. However I was wondering if running if for long periods of time would lead to any lasting damage. It usually sits around 49 degrees, with the fans spinning at 3150rpm (or 75% max speed). Any advice would be great, thanks!

you can probably keep it up until ~70c.

Ryzen 5 3600 stock | 2x16GB C13 3200MHz (AFR) | GTX 760 (Sold the VII)| ASUS Prime X570-P | 6TB WD Gold (128MB Cache, 2017)

Samsung 850 EVO 240 GB

138 is a good number.

Note: I am not an expert

Crypto mining won't damage your GPU (per se), but it will wear the fans due to it using 100%power at all times. I have a mobile quadro, and it rus extremely hot, like 89 degrees C. You should be fine.

Generally speaking, you don't have to worry until temperatures pass 80 to 85 degrees Celcius.
