Terraria Character for Tmod

Im trying to get my terraria character and worlds over to tmod but when I copy the character files over, it just appears with basic stats and an invisible character. I have also saved the character to the cloud but when I loud tmod, it doesn't show the character. Im not sure what else I could try and if it has happened to anyone could you tell me how you fixed it.
