I'm using an xstar (Korean) 1440p PLS monitor and it looks great and the response time is good enough for gaming. I can highly recommend it.

If you can afford it (and you can with £350) I would advice that you get a Dell U2410. It is absolutely amazing, one of the best screens on the market. You may however have problems finding them as they're discontinued, but they're worth the search.

The dell is good quality and is pretty close to the PA248Q it just doesn't have a pre-calibration. The eizo is most likely extremely high quality, but may be a bit overkill for your needs.

I love my dell u2412m ips, good price as long as you don't miss the hdmi. It doesn't have bad picture but almost any ips will beat a TN for picture quality. I mostly play fps games on it and can't notice any ghosting or any lag.

I've said it and I'll said it again, I would never buy a monitor without the ability to adjust the brightness and contrast., and a lot of those Korean monitors don't have that function. Didn't try the new dell's P series, but  it should be better than their older U2312m as it uses a better panel (ah-ips as opposed to e-ips that is an older panel). EIZO makes awesome monitors, but at this level I'm not sure that you are getting that bang for the buck with EIZO. If you need a pro grade monitor for color critical work then EIZO is a great choice. But for gaming I would go with DELL- cheaper then the ASUS PA248q- and you don't need all those bells and whistles that ASUS is offering for gaming. Also they have a bit of flickering problem but not everyone sees that..
