Asus z170i pro gaming issues

hi i have a Asus z170i pro gaming. when i switch it on it goes to a screen that says "Please enter setup to recover bios settings"..I can't figure out why. I've reset everything to default.

try reflashing your bios, uefi is weird and resetting settings doesnt necessarily delete everything that isn't settings (for example last changed settings doesn't get removed when you reset cmos)

i just flashed the bios to the latest one from asus's site. still no change

Once your in the bios try hitting f5 to load optimized defaults and retry. 

 

If that doesnt work, plug in your network cable, download the bios again thru the bios and try the above again.

I'll try reflashing it again soon. from what i found i think the cmos battery is dead
