I don't know shit about tablets, or much anyway, so what's a good type? Dual core? Quad? What amount of GHz is decent for such a small device? Android or windows 10? I told my mom windows might be better for more program availability. But she wants it for under 50$ yikes.

What is her use?Anything intense? Video watching? 50$ only? Have you tried used?

She wants to do some gaming on it I assume but I told her not at that budget, video watching I would assume to some degree (facebook and stuff), she won't get used.

Found this, is digiland a good brand? http://www.bestbuy.com/site/digiland-8-tablet-32gb-black/4306700.p?skuId=4306700

No, its one of the HUNDREDS of shitty knock off / third party brands you purchase, use for 3-6 months, and throw away. Some people do use them for longer, but usually with much frustration and problems. The screens are normally low resolution, have poor color reproduction, and their software is bug city. However, for a temporary tablet, they're fine if that's all the money you can spend for now. I guess. :(

I'd highly advise saving up enough for at least something like the $179 - $229 Samsung Galaxy Tab A / E tablets. They're made by a manufacturer you can actually get warranty support from (usually) and have decent specs for the price.

Desktop: KiRaShi-Intel-2022 (i5-12600K, 5060 Ti) Mobile: Moto Razr 50 Ultra (Razr+ 2024) | 30GB CAN+US+MEX $30/month
Laptop: Lenovo Yoga 7i (16") 82UF0015US (i7-12700H, 16GB/2TB RAM/SSD, A370M GPU) Tablet: Lenovo Tab Plus (256GB)
Camera: Canon M6 Mark II | Canon Rebel T1i (500D) | Canon SX280 Music: Spotify Premium (CIRCA '08)

I doubt she can do that, my step dad is buying it for her and he said 50$ I can't even convince him to budge to 100, but then again he just got back to work and will only get 1 decent check before Christmas and he has a lot of people to shop for, I'll see what we can do. But ty for your insight on that.

Ugh. I can certainly understand budgeting around the holidays, as we have to pinch money for our gifts too. Just the way it rolls when you have a lot to buy.

Anywho, the point here isn't that you're trying to buy a Cadillac or Ferrari tablet - you're simply trying to buy something that isn't a rusting out 30 year old death trap. A slightly used family sedan is what you're after, in terms of the price of tablet you're looking for. Car metaphors might help your dad understand why one might spend a wee bit more on a quality tablet (quality break pads, for instance) vs. no-name brand ones.

Lolol I wish that would work, we're talking about the guy that grinds out that last stop on break pads or uses dollar store oil xD
