NathyLock

Thinking about upgrading my R9 390. Do any of you guys know when the RX 490 will come out and how it will perform? Thank you

Well the RX 480 is good but it depends at what resolution you play.

You probably will be fine with a RX480 but it just makes more sense to go with a GTX 1060 6GB, maybe even a 1070 if you plan to upgrade your monitor to 4k or 1440p ultrawide.

Are you okay? (for the second time I'm pretty sure)

A 390 is almost (only put it in bold as you'll miss it) as fast as a 1060 thus that's not upgrading, that's sidegrading :P

If you're upgrading, minimum is a fury/980ti/1070 as a 390 is just as fast as a RX480 with the 390 being almost as fast as a 980...

Looking at my signature are we now? Well too bad there's nothing here...

It's just that sometimes you post things that are slightly dodgy :P

We don't really know anything about the 490 yet.

If you want to upgrade now, the only viable options are the 980Ti or 1070 at minimum. The 1060 and RX 480 aren't that much faster than a 390 to make the upgrade worthwhile. We're expecting to hear more about the 490, hopefully early 2017, so if you can wait, then wait. ;)
