GPU RAM Disk

So, I came across Linus' video on RAM disk and was wondering if it could be implemented on the gpu and make use of the gddr5's high bandwidth...

so i looked around and found these two projects on github, on was for linux and the other on was for windows:

My Hardware:
Hardware:
Intel Core i3 2120
8gb ddr3
Asus Strix GTX 960 4GB

Benchmark:
On linux i used dd to write from /dev/zero and then read to /dev/null
on windows it was crystaldiskmark as usual

the results on Linux
seq read : 1.5GB/s
seq write: 1.2GB/s

on Windows:
seq read: 1.2GB/s
seq write: 1.5GB/s

Now only if someone with a 24gig quadro can benchmark some games gpu ram vs ram disk, that would be sweet!!!

if you also wont to use them to play you have to save disable it and enable it every single time. it is also too expensive as quadro p-6000 has 24gb and it too epensive. and what are you going to use it for anyways? it doesn't have a lot of capacity.

It would be impossible. The latency and fact that you have to go through the PCIe bus as well as the GPU to get to it would make it inefficient, slow to access and the GPU would be overloaded.
