Im thinking about picking up an ASUS 1080 STRIX, (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?item=N82E16814126103 )but I have heard they can have only mediocre temps until you replace the thermal paste. Has anyone else encountered/heard of this problem?

Never heard of those problems.

You can always replace your thermal paste, but I don't know if this will affect your warranty / how ASUS handles it.

Please quote me in any answers to my posts, so that I can read them easily and don´t forget about them. Thanks!

I love spending my time with PC tinkering, networking and server-stuff.

Mine ran fine for an open air card. Wasn't happy with it over but it put out good numbers. Never heard about them having "issues".
