Feedback for Upcoming Build Needed

xwboy

Hi!

I'm about to buy the parts for a new gaming, editing, streaming, and general productivity build. I'll be playing a variety of games at 1440p, but some of my favorites are Battlefield 1, the Total War series, and RPGs like the Witcher 3 and Skyrim (heavily modded).

I'd like feedback on what I have planned and any recommendations to improve it. Here it is:

I could do that but it would be pushing the limits of my budget. A 6600k is only $40 cheaper where I live and a 1080 is $200 more.

he's doing editing and streaming, both of which benefit greatly from the extra threads.

I think that price combined with what herman said is reason enough to stay with the 6700k. Thanks for the feedback though.

If you plan on streaming, wouldn't it be better for you to have 2 monitors? :)

I have an old monitor that I can reuse if I need to. Not sure about the resolution (900p?) but it would work fine for monitoring stream chat and such.

You maybe able to squeeze a 1080 there if you get a cheaper drive and SSD.

Any recommendations? All of the cheap HDDs I've seen have reports of common failure. I haven't done too much research for the SSDs though.

You could pick a 1TB Blue and a 120GB Trion 150 or something.

No, I don't think the blue drive have had any serious failure issues.

Thanks for the recommendations but I need the extra capacity for videos and my games library.

The failures I was talking about were cheap 2 TB drives.

Even with the cheaper 2TB drivers, it will probably be fine.
