I just recently installed a msi geforce gtx 1060 into my computer and when I turn it on and check the Display Adapters it only says Intel HD graphics

Have you plugged the Monitor cable like DVI/HDMI/DPI into the 1060? If no and plugged it in the motherboard port then it will say Intel Graphics. Plug it in your graphics card ports so that is picks up visual from the GPU.

I tried that but when I do that the monitor doesn't turn on

I just tried that but there is still no display

i did that but it still has no display

Turn off system, Plug the GPU out and PCI/E cable and then replug it and make sure you hear a click when you attach it to  PCI/E slot on motherboard after that plug in the PCI/E cable in GPU and HDMI in back of it and still doesnt work then i dont know whats wrong
