Headset with mic for below $50?

Hello there,

 

I'm looking for a headset with mic for around $50 (as the title suggests). I will be using this headset for gaming (Mostly csgo) and Skype, thus I will need a headset with a reasonable mic. I'm looking around amazon for the headset, and came across a these two that I think are suitable for me.

If you guys have any better suggestions at the same price point, do let me know. The headset needs to be able to ship to Singapore (Ive checked, the Cloud and G430 can) as I live there.

 

On a side note, electronics in Singapore are hella expensive. The G430 retails here for SGD $125 (USD $87.55) and even at a recent IT exhibition this weekend it was on offer for SGD $99 (USD 69.30).

Really? Interesting, its cheaper here than the stinger. I dont use either, but I heard the stinger is much better than the G430 (Mic quality certainly is).

Hmm, ill go check some reviews about the stinger. Maybe its due to the face that the Core isnt on any discount?

The regular price for the core is $10 AUD lower than the stinger here, not on any discount. From the reviews I have seen, the stinger is much better than the G403.

Well, technically $49.99 is under $50. What is your full budget for a headset then? Where are your buying it from (So I can get an idea of prices and whats available)?

Well, i'm currently bashing myself for not buying it earlier. $15 USD is no small sum to me. With the current pricing as it is (after shipping+conversion, it becomes $62 USD / $89 SGD), I might end up buying it locally / wait again for a discount. Locally the stinger goes for around $79 SGD (I still have no idea why the G430 is at $125 SGD).

 

I'm hoping to find a headset in the $30-50 USD range, but that excludes shipping. If the prices are cheaper locally (eg like the stinger now), I might just get it locally. It doesn't help that the US exchange rate is on the rise now...

In that case I would just get the g430 then (The G230 is cheaper and the same but stereo instead of USB).

If I were to get the G430, it would be USD 48.73, or $70 SGD. Im considering whether it is worth it to spend the extra $9 to get a stinger locally?

 

Another option would be to wait for a discount on the stinger. I don't really need it urgently, and something else that I wanted to buy off amazon (Strafe RGB, Mx blues) is "currently unavailable". I could wait until both of these are back in stock and one of them has a discount, then do the 30 day prime trial to possibly get free shipping.

You're being very unclear, what is your final maximum budget? If you can afford the stinger, then I would recommend it over the G430. If not, buy the G430/G230 instead.

Current prices:

G430: 48.73 USD / 70 SGD

Stinger (local): 55 USD / 79 SGD

 

-Since I dont need a headset urgently, I am willing to wait until the stinger is back on discount again before purchasing. (It is now at base price)

I would try to wait until the keyboard is available to buy them both (assuming that doesnt take too long), no point in waiting forever though, or it will just be an endless cycle (At least wait until monday as it might come back on sale then). Its not really a durability issue, just the stinger has better audio and mic quality. If your parents dont want to pay the extra few dollars, i'm sure you could find enough extra to buy it ($9 isnt much). You could also save money on the keyboard if you dont care much for the RGB (I wouldn't bother with RGB, regular one color backlit is cheaper).
