How to basic?

This video still doesnt answer one simple question i have, display port to dipsplay port or hdmi to hdmi hdmi to display port or what? How does one connect gpu to monitor? I assume theres no difference since noone talks about it

If your Monitor has DP, then go DP.

If it has HDMI 2.0 then do that.

If it has DVI, then go DVI.

 

You can use adapters but why would you? Modern GPUs have all 3 major connectors.

How would one connect gtx 1080

 

to asus 348q?

 

I see people saying display port to achieve maximum fps, Is that display port from monitor to display port of the gpu?

Usually monitors come with one or more interface cables. If just one, plug it into any port on the gpu that if fits into; same on the monitor. If the monitor resolution is 1080, pick any one of the cables and use it to connect the two. Otherwise use mini-DP/DP to DP/mini-DP by preference. Second choice would be HDMI to HDMI.

Unless you're playing at 2160, HDMI is fine.

3440x1400 and 100fps, so dont matter how i would plug the card cant go wrong ye?

You'll need Displayport in that case, unless someone knows otherwise, since HDMI standards go 1080@120 to 2160@30/60.
