3GB of VRAM is fine from what i read, although 6GB is much better.

Isn't that a bit long? Most people can afford get something 2-3 years down the line, it's not something insane to pay 200 USD for a decent upgrade after 2-3 years isn't impossible, you can even go to the used route.

3GB is fine for a few years. I don't see too many games becoming VRAM hogs at 1080 and those that do can be placed on an SSD to help with buffering.
