just thought I'd share my overclocking for the msi r7950 twin frozr 3 oc. stock from msi it is at 960mhz with 1250mhz on the ram. this card overclocks pretty easily and well too. i got the card because i sent my 6970 lightning to rma 5 (yes, five) times and they decided to change it for me last time i sent it. the only thing they had in stock (for replacement) was this 7950 and that was just increadible of them to do so, i was so glad. anyways, so i overclocked it to 1100mhz with 1575 mhz (the max) on the ram. i upped the voltage to 1200mv and power to +20 and ram voltage to 1600mv. did a burn in with furmark and checked for errors with occt, no issues and runs at 30~32 idle (with 21~24 ambient) and 69 on furmark and occt. quite good i think, i tried getting 1200-1150-1125 mhz on the core but after a few minutes occt would indicate errors. not so much at 1125 or 1150 at 1250mv but still, i want it as stable as possible. at 1200 mhz with 1250mv i would get a lot more errors, no artifacts but wtv the errors that occt shows. so all in all, i really like this card and its oc capability, it is way more able than that 6970 lightning i had even though that one was made to oc. so yeah, thats my schpeal on the 7950.

also, i sometimes see guys getting 1300 mhz on the core but my max is 1200. anyone know why? same for the ram frequency.

p.s. i'm using msi afterburner to oc.

sorry, what i meant was, the limit on afterburner for my card is 1200 mhz for the core clock and 1575 for the memory clock. some of the reviews i see out there people are getting them over my physical maximum that i can put in afterburner, as in, afterburner will not let me go more than 1200.

Their Cards have different firmware on them. You could try flashing your firmware with a higher clock set.

Did you enable extended official overclocking in MSI Afterburner? I can slide all over to 1530mhz core in Afterburner.

That's odd xAcid9, when I unlocked Afterburner it lets me scale the core clock to 1620mhz

just as a side note, i changed the stock thermal compound, even thought their compound seems ok, it was still splattered like a jackson pollock painting. so i remedied that with some sweet sweet ic diamond!
