Once again I tried to overclock my i7 4790k that had bad thermals before.

After figuring out that I need to use shim for some unknown reason, my temps are back to normal. Well kinda.

So I did put everything to stock settings, and when running AIDA 64 FPU, it won't go above 70°C, and when running AIDA64 with CPU + FPU + cache it won't go over 65°C. Everything okay about that.

But I tried to lower temps even more, by lowering voltage. Stock voltage for my i7 4790k is 1,287V on core. And when I change that to 1,25V, I get 10°C INCREASE in temperatures.

How the hell do I get higher temps by lowering voltage to CPU?

I left everything else as it was, and just change Voltage of the core to lower number.

I did notice that when I leave everything at stock, HWmonitor won't have any number at IA offset. But when I lower my voltage, I get info in HWmonitor that IA offset is 1,2V or something like that.

Wuuuut?

I just decided to put everything back to stock and leave it like this because it's giving me headache. Lowering voltages is causing higher temps? That's too much for my brains.

Also when I leave voltages at stock and just bump multiplier from x44 to x45, my temps also spike up for 10°C. But it's the same voltage ffs.

That i7 4790k is pissing me off for quite some time and I already decided to buy i7 6800k next year if possible, but I would just like to understand why the hell I get higher temps from lowering voltages ...
