External HDD disconnecting

I've got a 1TB external HDD connected via eSATA and sometimes it randomly disconnects. I manage to get it to work after a reboot (almost everytime). Is it a sign that my HDD is dying (or maybe the eSATA port) or is it just Windows being broken?

 

More info: Crystal Disk Info shows that the drive is of good health and ran for about 8600h.

Possibly the eSATA, try to test out another HDD in the eSATA.

However it could just be the HDD getting old

Try a different eSATA port.

Try CrystalDiskInfo if you want to see if the drive itself is getting a little worn

CDI is telling me the drive is in good shape
