I'm putting together a computer for a friend. Nothing crazy, just something to play csgo.

I have a few few questions about ram compatibility. #1. If the motherboard only supports up to 1333mhz ram and I were to put 160mhz ram in it, would the components be incompatible or would it only run the ram at 1333?

#2. For a build using the lga771 to LGA775 motherboard mod, you'd be using an Xeon processor with an LGA775 motherboard (lets say p45 chipset but not sure if that matters). Would ecc memory be compatible in this build or would the motherboard reject the memory?

thanks for your help.

160mhz!?!?! i asume you mean 1600mhz, in which case you would be fine, as the ram would just run at a lower speed
