Unable to access HDD

Hi.

Today I copied some large files to an external hdd. Shortly after the drive became inaccessible. I tried chkdsk one time and it did a bunch of stuff. Something was damaged and I didn't save what it did. Then I kept trying with no success.

 

I can view all the files through a recover program, but not with windows explorer.

 

I want to know if I can use the option provided by the software that will recover the boot sectors without losing data existent on the drive.

If you really care about your data, send it do a data recovery place.

Nope I don't have a backup.

I just wanted to recover it the least complicated way. But only if there's no way to do it myself though software.
