Hi.

Today I copied some large files to an external hdd. Shortly after the drive became inaccessible. I tried chkdsk one time and it did a bunch of stuff. Something was damaged and I didn't save what it did. Then I kept trying with no success.

I can view all the files through a recover program, but not with windows explorer.

I want to know if I can use the option provided by the software that will recover the boot sectors without losing data existent on the drive.

Here are some screenshots

If you have a surefire alternative please let me know. Thanks.

EDIT: Actually I did took a shot of a bit of what chkdsk was doing: https://goo.gl/photos/YJqGNkrMVAtvnsTQA
