so its something you can do easily in wattman

Noooooooo. Absoulutely not. It has better cooling and a custom PCB, and overclocks better than a watercooled reference RX480

Personal build >  New-ish AMD main gaming setup

PLEASE QUOTE OR @ ME FOR A RESPONSE xD

Never make your purchase based on 1 review though. Even Jay says that himself all the time. He might have been lucky with his card, but I do believe XFX has one of the best rx480's after reading about other peoples experiences.

true , but i've heard other people say similar things about the gtr. Seems xfx really nailed the design on that card.

The GTR is one of the best AIB cards around. I would snag one if I see a good deal on it. You can check the aftermarket RX480 list in the topics in my signature.

Got it bestbuy and get one of the shelf.  No one buys GPUs from them.  I could go but a 1080 if I wanted.

Asus and MSI's coolers are a little better than the XFX solution, but in my opinion the XFX card looks WAY better than both of them. I managed to grab mine on sale with a rebate that came out to be a $50 USD savings. I'm super happy with mine and wouldn't trade it even for a 1070 or 1080.

Intel Xeon 1650 V0 (4.4GHz @1.4V), ASRock X79 Extreme6, 32GB of HyperX 1866, Sapphire Nitro+ 5700XT, Silverstone Redline (black) RL05BB-W, Crucial MX500 500GB SSD, TeamGroup GX2 512GB SSD, WD AV-25 1TB 2.5" HDD with generic Chinese 120GB SSD as cache, x2 Seagate 2TB SSHD(RAID 0) with generic Chinese 240GB SSD as cache, SeaSonic Focus Plus Gold 850, x2 Acer H236HL, Acer V277U be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 4, Logitech K120, Tecknet "Gaming" mouse, Creative Inspire T2900, HyperX Cloud Flight Wireless headset, Windows 10 Pro 64 bit

Actually, no. XFX have VRM cooling on their GTR edition which is why you see such good temps on the card.
