I keep getting a screen that says "reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key" I got it after I put in a old hard drive then tried to put my old one back in. The hard drive shows up in the bios and the wires are in correctly and the boot priority is on UEFI hard disk and I replaced the data cable and the hhd is on. I dont know what to do. When I turned off my computer to take te old hard drive out (that is running Windows 7 while the original one is running Windows 10) I thought I heard a pop from the hard drive but it might have been because it was an old seagate hard drive that was really loud during operation. I don't know what to do I can't figure anything else out

The hard drive is either faulty or corrupted operating system. thats why u keep getting that message.

Try checking the disk health.

How do I do that. And if it's faulty would I could I make a boot USB because I can do that easily

What? i cant understand you.

Well boot ur computer using your OLD hdd that has W10 in it.
and download HD TUNE to check your OLD disk health.
If its faulty then u shouldnt install an OS in it because its a waste of time.
OS need a healthy HDD/SSD to operate or u will get a lot of trouble like hanging for no reason or sudden BSOD.
Check the disk HEALTH first if its healthy enough then u can install OS in it.

But if not then u shouldnt.

Just replace the HDD.

sometimes a faulty HDD still can be detected in the BIOS.
Or u might need to change the HDD configuration from AHCI to IDE/Compatible in the BIOS because its WINDOWS 7. Try that first

Ok I will try that
