I'll be buying a new mouse next month so I've decided to see which one might fit me best. I was dead set on getting G402 and then G502, but after trying them both yesterday I've decided not too since they feel uncomfortable. Mainly because my thumb doesn't feel natural on them since they are "pushing him" to sit in what I see as a non natural position. And those are too flashy which I don't prefer so kind of a bonus I guess. What I'm looking at are mice that are good for palm and sometimes fingertip grip (and combo of those 2).

The ones that seem to stand out are:

Zowie EC2-A

Mionix Castor or Avior

Finalmouse Ergo

Logitech G403

I've looked up into Roccat, Dream Machines, SteelSeries and few other brands but none of their mice don't seem to be what I'm looking for.

I'm a right handed person with medium hands, and the mice don't have to have a billion programmable keys as you see from the mice above. I play basically everything, so no need for a "genre preferred mice". If you have any other suggestions feel free to add them. And please no Razer products.

The ability to google properly is a skill of its own.

I personally have the Zowie EC2-A. If you are a competivite gamer, this is a good mouse to start with. It's one of the smallest mice on the market, has a really good sensor meant for fps games. I couldn't really tell you about the other mice since I didn't use any of them. Hope this helps.

EDIT: I've also used the Logitech G502, consider checking that one out.

I don't know much about the mice that you mentioned (or mice in general) but I found a mouse that I have personally put on my Christmas list simply because it is so cheap. It is not name brand or anything, but for the price that it is listed at and the reviews that it has I say what the heck. The Redragon M601 is incredibly cheap and it looks pretty good. It has a advertised DPI of 2000 and I don't know if that is good or bad for gaming. I say give it a try because it is only $14.

Really? I had an impression it's fairly large, especially for palm grip. How does it stack to EC-1 compared in size? The pictures on the website don't tell that much as one might think. Or ZA11 if you've tried that one? Mind you my hands are 17 cm so I should be fine.

Also 2 more questions? Are the side buttons that hard to press and does the scroll wheel get in the way since it's quite high.

I know about the M601, but I've decided to spend $60-$70 if needed, might go even up to $80 since the prices in my country are higher, going for something of higher quality. Also I don't really like flashy. :P

@Thony

Iirc you have an Ergo?

Yup, ergo. Its shaped just like G502 which is the best shape for me (claw grip user).

I've no issue with the shape except the thumb area. The Ergo has the space to grab the mouse which I like. Is the build quality really that bad?

Well, if you got the money, you might as well spend it.

I haven't found the scroll wheel to be a problem. The buttons on the side are very easy to press.

Well I'm leaning towards Zowie or Mionix. This guy had a few bad sides on Zowie which I've read about on few other sites, but I suppose they shouldn't be a big problem.

I have medium sized hands and have had a lot of gaming mice.

I would recommend the Zowie FK 2. The videos you post are by Rocket Ninja and he uses the Zowie FK 2 aswell. It's my to-go mouse for 2years now and I love it.

You could also take a look at Logitech G pro, but that's if you fingertip grip it.

I also have the Mionix Avior, its shape is a little weird, but I got used to it, and I use it for runescape (07) only, since I can jitterclick really fast with it.

So I would recommend the Zowie FK2, it's shape is just perfect to many people and the sensor is great aswell.

With perfect I mean, you can fingertip, clawgrip and palmgrip it.

I wouldn't take the Castor if I were you, I didn't like anything of the castor over the Avior, since it's shape forces you to palm it, and I don't like mice that force you into a grip, but that's my opinion.

Zowie FK2 -> Zowie EC2 -> Avior

And maybe the new Finalmouse Scream one, when it comes out. It's shape looks really nice for medium size hands and it has the new Pixart 3360Sensor.
The mouse is a little overhyped though, since it's based on the csgo pro player Scream.

And Steelseries? naa they have made so many shitty mice in the past. The only reason steelseries-mice were popular, is because pro players were sponsored by Steelseries and forced to use their equipment. Half their mice if not more use laser sensor and have acceleration built in (ugh).

Tnx for the detailed input. I decided to explore the FK line a bit more . My main problem is that the FK series is quite low and doesn't apparently suit palm grip which is my usual grip. I sometimes use fingertip grip. My hands are 18 cm. How does it do in your experience with different grips and how big are your hands? I don't think that the right buttons should be a problem. If it's good for palm grip then that would be awesome since it's quite smaller and I'll be bringing it with me a lot, I'm always on the go.

Zowie FK2 is originally designed for Claw & Palm. However I used to be a fingertip-user, but after using the zowie fk2 I kinda am using inbetween (hybrid) palm/fingertip. RocketNinja has exactly 18cm hands and palms the ZowieFK2 I believe. Buy it from an online store and send it back if you don't like it.

You can also take the Zowie FK1 or FK1+, the shape is the same, but the size is bigger.

Also if you want a bigger 'hump' on the back, you might also take a look at the new deathadder elite.
