850 Pro broken?

Go to solution Solved by Germanpersia,

In case anyone ever wonders what the issue has been:

I reinstalled Windows and nothing changed. Then i plugged the SSD into another PC and i got full performance on the drive.

So as it turns out, my boot times have been slow because the cache drive that comes in the Asus UX32VD is not in perfect shape and takes about one minute to initialize (found the issue in Windows Event Viewer). I just disabled the cache SSD in device manager as i won't be using it anymore anyway. I found other benchmarks of an SSD in this laptop on the internet and the 4k speeds have been rather similar, so the performance is probably limited by the laptop. My Boot time has then gone down to about 18s.

Hi,

so today I installed a Samsung 850 Pro 256gb into my notebook. At the same time, I switched from Windows 7 to Windows 10. After installing Windows was done (boot times without fastboot were extremely slow), I installed Samsung Magician and saw, that the drive was running the "EXM02B6Q" Firmware, known to cause issues. I just updated it and hoped the drive was fine. By now, boot times have not gotten any better and starting anything that communicates with the drive, like Samsung Magician or Windows Diskpart still takes forever.

In Samsung Magician sequential Speeds are fine, but I'm only getting about 50k IOPS read and write.

What should I do with it?

I'm now thinking about reinstalling Windows, and if that doesn't help return the drive and get a new 850 pro from another retailer. In my main computer, another 850 pro is working great which is why I chose this SSD again.

My Notebook is an Asus UX32VD

Thanks! :)

By now, having installed all the necessary drivers from Intel, Performance in Samsung Magician hasn't gone up. I've run an AS SSD Benchmark and it appears to be quicker, but i don't know which of these Values compare to Samsung Magician's IOPS. Can anyone help? Samsung Rapid is disabled.
