Hello.. I was wondering why the 4GB DDR3 stick from my old notebook didn't add up with the RAM on m new notebook. It has 4GB of RAM soldered with an expansion slot (where I installed the 4GB DDR3 stick form the old notebook). I don't know why it doesn't add up with the current ram of the notebook :3 I was expecting to see 8GB of RAM after I installed it..

Okay there are a few things you need to keep in mind.

First. Is your Windows 32 bit or 64 bit? 32 bit Windows only allows up to 4gb of RAM.

Second. You may be experiencing incompatible RAM. If your old laptop uses DDR3L and you stick that in your new laptop with DDR3, it will not work. You need to be sure.

Third. If the timings of RAM, speeds are different but are of the same RAM type (DDR3 or DDR3L in respective categories) , then they will only run at the lowest speed of the two.

I just doesn't show up.. Im pretty sure its a DDR3 and not a DDR3L.. It fits perfectly :3

Ddr3 and ddr3l share the same socket but have different voltages, does the stick pick up in the bios at all? It could be a bad stick, or not set correctly.

If it was a DDR3L and I installed it into a DDR3 slot. should I remove it?? :o

No that is fine ddr3l is compatible with ddr3 sockets just not the reverse way, basically ddr3l is just undervolted ddr3.
