hey guys, I have a problem and I'm not really sure whats going on. It all started about a month ago, I went to microcenter and I bought a gigabyte ga-z97-hd3 board and I installed everything correctly and it fired up perfect and ran great for a few days. Then about a week later I go to turn on the computer and all the fans turn on but instead of hearing the normal beep from the speaker it just makes a clicking noise. No matter what I did it wouldn't post. I put everything from that board onto just a cheap asus h81 board and it turned right on.

So I drive back to microcenter and exchange it for a new one but this time I got a gigabyte z97x-sli and this time everything worked great for about 2-2.5 weeks and now it's going the same thing. But now I can get it to post as long as I power it off, drain the power, take out both sticks of ram, turn it on, turn it off, put in 1 stick, turn it on and it'll post, then turn it back off and put the other stick in and it'll post like it should and run fine.

I really don't want to have to go back to microcenter or if I do have to go get another gigabyte board, they seem terrible (just so far from experience). Does anyone know what the problem here is? I would really appreciate any and all info.

thank you

I think their is something wrong with your power supply. Especially if that is two boards in a row, get a power supply and try it out for a little bit and see if it does the same thing.
