Now I know that they are in completely different categories but I just want to see how different they actually perform. I went to best buy yesterday and tested the G502. It was not as comfortable as people claim it is at least in my opinion. However I've heard the MX Master is really top of the line in terms of comfort so should I get that instead? I won't do much gaming with it since I have a XBOX but some gaming here and there is inevitable. So basically I want to know how "badly" the MX Master performs while gaming. I mean it would't be unplayable right? Even something like a 10$ mouse can play games if you know what I mean. I like the G502 but comfort is important to me just as much as performance.

In gaming the MX Master would be like any other non-gaming mouse. The comfort and productivity functions aside, it'd be equal to your $10 mouse. Wireless means added latency, battery-powered means mid-game disconnects, 1600DPI at 125MHz means average accuracy and speed. If you value comfort over gaming-oriented functions then The MX Master is a great mouse. But there are comfortable gaming mice too. The R.A.T series from Madcatz, The Mionix Naos mice, Razer Deathadder and Mamba series to name a few. I'd suggest you look into a few of those if you can. But you'll be fine with the MX Master too. It's not like your threshold for what you perceive as "performance" can be over the top since you game on a console too.
