I just finished a WC build which I will upload a build log in this forum tomorrow, but although the CPU temps are looking great (38) degrees, the GPU went up from 47min. (AC) to 70min. (WC)..I am guessing that it's either the VRM which doesn't get a lot of air flow, or I have tightened to much the GPU block..

Does anyone know which one it is? Is it true that if the GPU block is too tight/loose the cooling won't work properly?

I kind of fixed it...I put thermal paste under the VRM and GPU and the temperature dropped about 15 degrees' date=' but it's still 58....[/quote']

Thermal paste on the VRMs? You should be putting thermal pads on the VRMs and thermal paste on the GPU.

I tried putting thermal pad's on the VRAM's but it just fell off...

hmm.. doesn't sound right. Temps should have gone down regardless of VRM cooling if you have good contact with GPU.

Just shot in the dark here - giant air bubble caught in the GPU block and waterflow disrupted or misdirected.

Does your GPU block have inlet and outlet or can be mounted both ways?

Way too much thermal paste can cause problems too.

Do you tighten screws slowly and in cross pattern. Is it possible that one screw is tighter than others and causing alignment problems and air gaps on opposite corner?

Let us know if you figure it out..
