How often do you think a computer should be cleaned/have dust blown out?

It depends, how dirty/dusty is the environment that your computer is in?

When it's dusty...

I've had rigs that have run for over a year without dust and I've had others that got dusty in a matter of months. I've never taken my computer apart just to clean it but I will always give it a wipe down and cleaning when I am in there anyways.

I do indeed! It was more of a "I wonder what everyone else does" thing. I clean mine out whenever there is a decent amount of dust.

When you see dust literally visible on our components, that's when I like to clean it. And if you're not willing to do it so frequently, clean it about every 6 months, at least.

Depends, but yes, it can be depending on how powerful it is. I've seen people blow capacitors off boards before. lol.

I clean the outside and dust filters every time I clean. And I aim for cleaning the inside with a can of compressed air every 6 months or so.

I use a Giotto Rocket air that I got with my camera to blow out dust from the radiator and fans. Used to buy cans with compressed air but they where pretty expensive.

Ahh I see, that's good to hear! My old computer doesn't have any dust filters and it got nasty very quickly haha

I use a cheap blower.....it works just fine!!!! i clean the computer once in a week!!

I usually clean my computer every 3 months.

How often you should clean your case depends on several things:

• What case you use.
  

• Dustfilters yes/no
  

• Environment
  

etc.
