I am having ridiculous micro stuttering in GTA 5 and I have no idea how to fix it. It doesn't do it in any other game. Temps are fine. I have noticed even with K boost my card stays at around 1100mhz even though it should be at 2100mhz.  Any thoughts? This stuttering is making my game unplayable and annoying.

I'm assuming you're using a Pascal card. If that's the case, start by uninstalling Geforce Experience. If the stuttering continues, lower all advanced graphics settings to zero, turn off VSync, set PostFX to very high or high (instead of ultra).

What are you specs?

What settings are you running?

EDIT: In your profile you state that you have 8gb of RAM -> what is your usage like?

Specs are in my profile. It's using about 6GB of my ram. But I have always had that much ram. And it used to be slower ram. I didn't have this problem

I am pretty sure that you are running out of RAM -> I would suggest upgrading to 16gb anyways, its cheap.

Maybe you are running more/different things in the backround.

I know it is. But I still don't think that would be problem. I ended everything in the background that I could in task manager. Is there anything else you could think of that would be doing this?

Do you have windows 10? If so in the search bar in the bottom left of your screen search for the Xbox app, then when your in the app click settings then click on the Xbox Dvr tab, then disable Xbox dvr. If that doesn't help try going into GeForce experience and turn off the share tab on the top right ( I think) if it's not there look for it in the settings. After that go into nvidia control panel>manage 3D settings, then scroll down and find something like power options, turn that to prefer maximum performance.

hope I could help.

I heard that on the latest graphics driver the 10'series cards are facing trouble with memory speeds. Try rolling back the drive to an old one(clean install).

The previous 2 comments already mentioned other things you can do, namely disable the xbox app on windows 10 and install a previous version of the drivers (without geforce experience).

Keep us posted.

I had the exact same problems you had with Watch Dogs when it came out -> thats when I upgraded to 16gb and all was fine.

Have you used an ingame overlay to monitor your ram or are you just alt+tabbing out?

I honestly can't think of another reason for the microstuttering though. Maybe play more with the ingame settings?

Hey folks. I figured out my issue. It was actually razerstats. It was only using about 50Mb of ram and almost no cpu. But somehow it was wrecking my game. Only that game too. Weird. But It is fixed now. After terminating that process my ram usage is still around 6 GB and CPU usage is around 70ish. Nothing there has changed much. But the stuttering went away
