Budget PC Build

mpsparrow

I have finally gotten the go ahead from my parents and have saved up enough money to build my own desktop computer. I already have a graphics card plus I don't really game at all. I just need a desktop computer (no monitor, speakers, mouse, or keyboard is needed, also I will take care of OS). So I am looking for a build in the $500 - $900 CAD range.

This build is going to be used for programming and school. I plan on running a localhost server on it, manage websites and FTP, and possible dual boot Windows and Linux.

I would need to check. I don't game at all though, so the GPU my friend gave me is more going to be used for hooking up multiple displays.

I didn't feel like creating a whole new list, so I just edited a saved up. You can either crossfire with another RX 460 in the future, or get a newer GPU. Also, you can upgrade to the 6700k or Kabylake when they come out.

I feel like this is a pretty good build.

I went with a locked processor because overclocking isn't really that necessary, and would cost about $70 CAD more for k-CPU plus a good cooler.

Everything else is pretty well regarded, and the mobo is mATX to save on cost, but an ATX H110 mobo would work as well. PSU is not the best but good for this budget. I left our the video card ;)
