hard drive store data via changing the direction of magnetic pole on a steel disc. a speaker produces electro magnetic force to move is diaphragm. therefore speaks can mess with data stored on disk

a router has no moving parts, if your speakers are that loud the audio waves make it shatter you had enough internet for today anyways :D

 

basicly, home routers are made to be able to take a beating, being on a subwoofer is a walk in the park for these devices :P

I've had 5 external HDDs between a pair of 200W bookshelf speakers (they are about 3 feet apart) for 4 years. No problems whatsoever lol

I left a spare drive on top of a 60W monitor style speaker for several months; when I needed it again I found no issue with the data on it, I didn't do any extensive tests on it though. I don't know if anyone has done a proper study on the effects of leaving a drive near a speaker but I still wouldn't do it to be safe.
