...yet it's listed on NVIDIA's website as a supported game. Why is that?

I have a recent GPU - a GTX 970, an i5 CPU, 8GB ram and Windows 10 so this makes no sense.

You guys are able to optimize it, right?

You have a GTX970 and an i5

Just set Ultra yourself and enjoy 70-100fps like my GTX970 does with my i5.

1080p - Ultra - Done.

Also... the amount of threads supporting GFE RUINING game performance due to "Optimization" screwing itself over,...is pretty high...

It also does NOT use the best settings. I can Max a lot of games, GFE tells me to REDUCE settings in some games when I don't need to...

Just best to do it yourself.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

I'm not getting anywhere near 70-100 fps. I get far worse, maybe 40 fps judging by eye alone. When there's gas and smoke and such, the game stutters. To be honest, it's probably not the game settings though as my PC runs like shit lately, regardless of which game I play.
