You can use 550W for both builds and I would advise going with Intel as even the i3 Skylakes are matching the 8350.

Would say your PSU is overkill (650w is good enough), the other is proper for the setup. Why not go with a Intel I3 or I5 build btw? Kinda shame that you go with older stuff that is kinda obsolete. Also would say that if you do really want to stay AMD you wait for Zen.

The object of life is not to be on the side of the majority, but to escape finding oneself in the ranks of the insane.

my main reason for going with the 8350 is more cores and it is cheaper than most of the quad core intel cpus i have found, my pc is going to be used for video editing and recording and pretty much every thing else so the main reason for 8350 is multitasking im still searching for a decently priced intel quad core cpu if i cant find any then i may go with an i3 skylake and as for my cousins he is working with a much stepper budget than i am and his internet is currently out so i cant really talk to him but his was more a throw together just as an example then we would work the price down from there i will talk to him next chance i get and see if he will go with intel Thank You both for the help :)

Some video editing software uses more cores (Adobe Premiere and Sony Vegas come to mind) but some prefer either faster cores (IE: Intel) or favor having a powerful GPU so look into what your program wants..

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.
