I'm not quite at the point where I pick out an exact GPU, what I really need to do now is determine whether to buy a 1050, 1050ti, 470, 1060 3G, etc. I'm very new to this and I don't know what I'm doing. I would prefer Nvidia because of their lower temperatures and ShadowPlay, but you can still convince me to go with AMD.

I want to save as much money as possible, and I want to be able to play modern games at 1080p 60fps. It would be nice to be able to run these games at ultra settings, but I understand that's probably not going to happen at this price point. Oh well. :) I'm okay with medium to high, if I have to play at low to maintain a good frame rate it seems like I would be better off spending a little more money to get better parts.

Any criticism you have is welcome as well.

Thanks!

P.S.

I'm fine with the 1060 3G currently in my build. The main reason I'm posting here is because people on these forums keep telling me 3G of VRAM isn't enough for what I want to do.

3 gigs is enough i mean i see people run 750 still with 1080p getting medium to high youll be fine

Is that usually when the better PC component deals are? I could watch for deals on Black Friday but leave the rest of my build until Cyber Monday...

i mean usually pc components dont drop to much but best time will be from black friday to cyber monday which is the monday right after black friday sometimes deals come out mostly on like ssd and hdd though, since its so close you might as well wait though because maybe gpu's will drop and yeah 1060 will be good but a 8g 480 will probably future proof you more and the 480 has been shown to do well in dx12 games

When people buy Nvidia cards, they try to get EVGA, MSI, Gigabyte, etc. Who are some good manufacturers of AMD cards?

im not sure if it makes a difference tbh, the main thing that changes per manufacturer is the gpu fan and they may change the stock clock speed of it.

it more works on like how the card is setup they all run the same specs like say you got a 480 4g the msi version would run same clock speeds and memory and everything like that but would be setup different in like pcb

i would go with aftermarket though and not the reference becuase like the msi gaming x has the twin frozr 6 a very good card cooling setup

This seems like something I'm going to have to come back to when I'm ready to actually order the parts. Thanks everyone.

yeah your probably better of choosing a graphics chipset then the manufacturer for it.

Also consider the warranties as well
