Thanks for the reply,

I just took a look and the 7770 is 21.1 x 11.2 x 3.6 cm (L x W x H), the standoffs are about 1cm and well I dont think it would fit, well theoretically it would fit but with literally 0cm of room left (theres 3.2cm of room from the current GPU to the end of the case). Shame, but I guess I will continue to look for another card that will fit :P

Any recommendations in regards to a different card?

RX 480 or a GTX 1060.

Well seeing as it is a height issue, you should look for reference cards instead on Nvidia ones. Don't go reference on AMD.

I think a reference design GTX 1060 would fit but maybe check some custom ones like this from MSI. Note that, you should look at the back end of the card where you see the display ports and stuff. The metal bracket is a standard height for most if not all cases. If the card is as wide as the length of the metal bracket I think you're good to go :)

A reference GTX 1070 would fit in terms of width. But length you'll just have to know yourself.

Hi,

I getting a new GPU as my current one is really struggling to push out 60+ fps at even the lowest possible settings on most games (I have an AMD Radeon 7770 atm). I have been looking at the GTX 1070 (MSI OC edition) but I am worried it wont fit in my case :/

My case is 40.8 x 17.5  x 36cm (L x W x H) with the card being 27.9 x 14.0 x 4.2cm (L x W x H) the width of the card is what i'm seeing as the problem, I just wanted someone elses opinion on whether it would fit or not :)

Thanks in advance!

What specific case is that? It could depend you see. LxWxH is not enough info as the motherboard stand offs maybe too high. It depends really.

Here's a tip. Google the exact dimensions of your Radeon 7770. As in model and everything. Then compare it to the GTX 1070 you like. Any difference you see you should measure yourself in your case if it will fit or not. Kindly update us here. If I don't reply, tag me lol.

Hm, in any case, you could leave the side panel open if it doesn't fit. But I if you could afford a GTX 1070, why not buy a new case? I mean, if you like slim and mini cases I respect that. But that's the drawback there you know.

Updated with moar tips!!!

You can bark like a dog, but that won't make you a dog.

You can act like someone you're not, but that won't change who you are.

Finished Crysis without a discrete GPU,15 FPS average, and a lot of heart

How I plan my builds -

Spoiler

For me I start with the "There's no way I'm not gonna spend $1,000 on a system."

Followed by the "Wow I need to buy the OS for a $100!?"

Then "Let's start with the 'best budget GPU' and 'best budget CPU' that actually fits what I think is my budget."

Realizing my budget is a lot less, I work my way to "I think these new games will run on a cheap ass CPU."

Then end with "The new parts launching next year is probably gonna be better and faster for the same price so I'll just buy next year."
