Does the PS4 pro support 4K? I know that the marketing is around 4K and I know that sometimes games are run on lower res for better performance.

But what about other media: built in apps like Youtube or if I want to watch something from a disk or USB. Do these applications support 4K?

So if I load a 4K movie on a disk or USB will it be displayed in 4K native or does the PlayStation pro do some "magic" with it? Also, Youtube supports 4K in a browser, does that apply to the console?

The netflix app on PS4 pro supports 4k so the youtube app probably will as well.

Unlike the Xbox One S, the PS4 pro does NOT support 4K blu-rays.

Most games will not run on 4K but will be upscaled (which is expected as the PS4 couldnt even run 1080p in most AAA games and the Pro is "just" ~2.5x while 4K is 4x the amount of pixels of 1080p).

Desktop: Intel i9-10850K (R9 3900X died 😢 )| MSI Z490 Tomahawk | RTX 2080 (borrowed from work) - MSI GTX 1080 | 64GB 3600MHz CL16 memory | Corsair H100i (NF-F12 fans) | Samsung 970 EVO 512GB | Intel 665p 2TB | Samsung 830 256GB| 3TB HDD | Corsair 450D | Corsair RM550x | MG279Q

Laptop: Surface Pro 7 (i5, 16GB RAM, 256GB SSD)

Console: PlayStation 4 Pro

Ok, so in short:

Games: if it can handle

Disk: NO

USB: YES

Apps: YES, if the developer supports it

correct?
