I have a pat of HD600 headphones and they sound okay with my onboard audio. My onboard audio advertises amplification that can handle up to 600 ohms. Regardless, I think my headphones should sound better than they do. Additionally, my microphone recordings pick up a lot of interference.

What DAC or Amp or interface or whatever would you beautiful people recommend for my HD600s and microphone?

Thanks!

+1 I'd like to know too if there's something that supports microphone as well. I'm still in the middle of learning about the differences between DAC brands and amp brands ...between each product I mean!

As for my onboard audio however, http://www.realtek.com.tw/products/productsView.aspx?Langid=1&PFid=28&Level=4&Conn=4&&ProdID=284 I don't know if I could even support a HD600. Where did you find out how much your onboard audio supports?

what you are looking for is a sound card, since a mic needs a ADC (analog to digital converter), a DAC is purely digital to analog converter.

you have a couple of options

a) get a DAC and amp for the headphones and a cheap USB sound card for the mic

b) get a DAC and amp for the headphones amd get a USB mic

c) get a sound card, but the USB sound cards that are out right now aren't that good and the PCIe cards aren't that great either.

Before you buy amp and dac.  My thoughts on the M50x  Ultimate Ears Reference monitor review I might have a thing for audio...

My main Headphones and IEMs:  K612 pro, HD 25 and Ultimate Ears Reference Monitor, HD 580 with HD 600 grills

DAC and AMP: RME ADI 2 DAC

Speakers: Genelec 8040, System Audio SA205

Receiver: Denon AVR-1612

Desktop: R7 1700, GTX 1080  RX 580 8GB and other stuff

Laptop: ThinkPad P50: i7 6820HQ, M2000M. ThinkPad T420s: i7 2640M, NVS 4200M

Feel free to pm me if you have a question for me or quote me. If you want to hear what I have to say about something just tag me.

What would be the most cost effective product to rid 3.5mm microphone interference? My mic was under $50.

What DAC/amp would you recommend for 300 ohms headphones like my HD600? I paid around $270 for my headphones.

A super cheap USB sound card, one that cost like 10$

Well depends on what kind of budget we are working with and I cannot garantee that they will sound any different.

That super cheap sound card is only for the mic.

I cannot seem to get all the specs on your onboard, but from what I can see you should just keep using it with your headphones

Yes, I suppose I just got used to my HD600s. I plugged in my G230s and now my HD600s sound 10 times better.

To get rid of the slight hiss from my ~$30 microphone, buy something like this?

Or something like this?
