Well Corsair's current Hydro Series are OEM'ed by Cool It who has a thicker 240mm all in one, so they could sell but I suppose it isn't a large enough market for Corsair to get involved in.

A thicker radiator would theoretically dissipate more heat, but as others have said, a cooling loop is only as good as its weakest link, and if that's the contact point between the die, the cpu casing, and the heatsink itself then a thicker/longer radiator isn't going to make much if any difference.

A think/long rad would probably show its strength more in an application with a larger contact point, such as lga2011 cpu's.

What makes the H100i and other AIO units very attractive is the fact that they can fit in most cases, provide good cooling for a decent price. By having a thick RAD, Corsair are compromising part of their consumer base as not everyone has the space for 2 sets of 2 fans in push/pull and a thicker rad. Add this onto the fact it will also increase the price ( if they want to maintain their margins ) it doesn't seem like there is that much need or want for a thicker H100i, despite it's cooling advantages.

Because thick 240mm rad requires a bigger pump and a reservoir. Those Hydro coolers are made to be small.

There is already a thicker all-in-one watercooling unit - the Thermaltake Water 2.0 Extreme. It has fan control software included which is a bit similar to Corsair link, but I haven't seen many reviews of it. Personally I would go for the NZXT Kraken X60 because of the 140mm fans which are going to push more air quieter through the same ammount of effective radiator surface area. Still there is an option for those whose cases don't support 280mm radiators

Not many cases can fit big rads, plus you'd need a bigger (and more expensive) pump. The one in the h100 is a joke compared to what you get on the custom loop side.

My Current Build:

Corsair also build cases.............................

Build design case 'X' at lowest cost/minimal materials/maximum profit whilst ensuring it fully supports range of aftermarket components 'Y'

If you want to shift units of Y then build units of X into which Y can be placed.

Alternatively retool to be able to fit units of Y+30mm into X hoping to shift N units of Y+30mm at $Y x 1.75 ensuring that all sales of Y+30mm cover cost outlay at point of retooling.

It's just a business decision made on what they consider the market to be, and how they can best fit it. They aren't trying to compete with the custom loop brigade they are trying to compete at a price point that is the top end air cooler. The H100 competes and wins in that field so why spend all the money creating something which can only compete with it's own offerings?
